Slings and Arrows

I am a perpetually angry feminist, and former accountant,  who is trying to sooth herself from the micro aggressions of the patriarchy in everyday life, whilst curing herself from the habit and work of counting, collecting and interpreting data.

My current work explores and responds to observed and experienced gendered, sexist behaviour, but also deals with my irritation at those acts, and my observation that very little has changed in the last 25 years.

In this particular work I have used traditional ‘women’s work’, sewing, to create 3d forms. This piece is effectively a self portrait of my internal monologue.

I take an ontological approach, with my own reality and experience at the centre. I believe that the female experience is very different from that of the male, because of male behaviour.
